We have stayed at The Canford 3 times now and will be back. Terry and the team were so friendly and helpful and really went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Somehow we managed to turn up for our stay on the wrong date, but it was handled without any fuss and we were checked into the room we had booked for the following weekend (oops) within a matter of minutes. Breakfast was lovely and the rooms are so comfortable. We love the location, it’s a great spot for hikers and anyone who enjoys being near the sea. Can’t fault it.

What a lovely “not so little” find. The Canford is a really warm, welcoming pub with different areas. We ate in a heated conservatory. We were able to bring our pup with us. The beer garden was huge and when we went during the summer they had outdoor bar and grill! Highly recommend

We stayed in Room 1 – Sandbanks – and it was absolutely beautiful, the perfect setting to get ready for my wedding. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and wonderfully comfortable. We had dinner downstairs, which had a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. When my husband and I returned after our wedding, we were delighted to find a chilled bottle of Prosecco waiting for us. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone!

We stayed at The Canford for 2 nights in early March 2026. We found all the staff friendly and helpful. We had a spacious bedroom and shower room and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The food was good and we both enjoyed the Shepherds Pie. My wife said that the cooked breakfast was excellent. The hotel is dog friendly throughout apart from the daily charge of 25/night, the most we have ever paid compared to other hotels we have stayed at. We didn't like having no room heating information. We first thought that the heated towel rail thermostat was the room thermostat. Eventually we found the room thermostat “hidden”behind a big table bedside light! Having decided on a comfortable temperature we were annoyed that the heating came on intermittently from 5:30am especially as it was quite noisy. Would recommend and would stay again.

Nice large pub, good for a drink, lots of areas to choose from, massive undercover garden with many food options. Small carpark yet loads of street parking. Nice area too.

Great pub, well looked after, good food. We had some great banter with the barman Jake, really refreshing to have a barman that communicates with the customers rather than the usual pour, pay and move on. Highly recommend.

Easy parking. Lovely staff. Great food. Lively and friendly bar area with large outdoor garden area. Definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday.

Great place to stay. Near to our relatives and easy to get to the beachfront for a walk. Great food and drink choice - the Shepherd's pie was excellent. We will visit again. Thank you.
